Hi! Good joke on Jeff’s pen story.
I believe him that it’s a true story.
Hi! Thank you for the explanation of the following phrases:
the check-in date, the check-out date, the room rate, the new rate, in my party,
and to be a bother.
Hi! Of course many new phrases in Discussing a Victory or Loss.
We use the word “victorie”, and a very insulting phrase with the same meaning
“My team wipes the floor with yours.”
Hi! At the management styles I would add and technocratic style.
We use the same words with the same meaning for democratic, autocratic and technocratic.
I learnt at History course about these management styles.
Interesting and the explanations for “a top-down management style”,
“a bottom-up management” and “laissez-faire management”.
Hi! After our “revolution”, it was an usual term “laissez-faire management” in my country.
I have heard the term “feedback” at the Biology course for the first time.
Now, it’s an usual term in every company : the feedback from your clients.
Hi! We use the words “comandant” with the same meaning, and even “manager” and “superviser”.
I think we like all neologisms very much.
Hi! For the verb “to cancel” a contract we use and the word “rezilia”.
And in Physics we use the word “resilience” (rezilienta), the resilience of a spring,
the behaviour of the materials at the shock stress.
Very interesting and new to me the phrase “He has much resilience”.
The same “He has issues.”, with some psichological problems.
Hi! According to the Wikipedia, resilience is a key factor in protecting and promoting good mental health.
It is the quality of being able to deal with the ups and downs of life.
We look into many different factors that affect resilience:
– secure early attachments;
– confidence of being loved and valued by one’s family and friends;
– clear sense of self-identity (personal, cultural and spiritual);
– sense of self – efficacy (being able to make decisions and act independently);
– confidence to set goals and attempt to achive them.
Resilience means “don’t give up”.
Hi! Interesting to know the difference between:
He has issues, some psychological problems.
He has much resilience, a good mental health.
He has the determination, mental strength. (Warren’s post)
Thank you guys for EC 468.
Whenever Jeff wants to start a cult count me in. I cannot wait to call him His Excellency.
Hey, in the logo I want something resembling a pyramid. that is always cool, you know.
I was looking at a video of Square Dancing demonstration. It looks like fun.
